Eco-Fit™ Fabrics
At Legacy Ecowear, we follow the sustainability initiatives pioneered by Tsunami Sport. Our signature Eco-Fit™ fabric, created by Tsunami, is made from 50% recycled PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) woven into various weights of polyester. This fabric ensures comfort and performance, suitable for sports, corporate, and leisure apparel. Many of our clients, including schools, clubs, and corporate partners, have adopted Eco-Fit™ fabrics, driving positive change worldwide.
Innovative Packaging: Aquasolit
Tsunami Sport's innovative Aquasolit packaging, adopted by Legacy Ecowear, replaces traditional plastic polybags. Made from biodegradable polymers such as plasticised PVAL/PVA/PVOL and starch, Aquasolit bags dissolve completely in hot water (65°C) and gradually in cold water (15ºC), leaving only ink, CO², biomass, and H²O. They are food-safe, non-toxic, and 100% biodegradable, meeting DIN EN 13432 and ASTM D6400 standards.
Recycled Delivery Cartons
Our delivery cartons, inspired by Tsunami Sport’s sustainability practices, are made from recycled paper. Whenever possible, we recollect and reuse these cartons, adhering to our “no excuses for a single use” policy. We view used boxes as a positive step toward reducing waste.
Promoting Reusability
Following Tsunami Sport’s lead, Legacy Ecowear disrupts the textile industry's 'take, make, consume, dispose' model by encouraging the reuse of our durable apparel. We support initiatives to find new homes for pre-used garments, aiding local communities and those in need through our extensive global network.
Eliminating Unnecessary Packaging
Aligned with Tsunami Sport’s commitment to sustainability, we eliminated hang tags in 2016 to minimize our carbon footprint. This step, while small, supports our ECO mission without compromising the quality or delivery of our products.
